Objectives
The primary objectives for the Commercial Law / Litigation Specialist include:
- Ensuring that NGML’s activities, processes, and procedures align with relevant legal standards and regulations.
- Adequately covering NGML’s interests in any contracts.
Key Responsibilities
The Commercial Law / Litigation Specialist will be responsible for a broad range of legal duties, including:
- Contract Negotiation and Drafting
- Negotiate and draft Gas Sale Agreements, Gas Sale and Purchase Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, and other NGML commercial agreements.
- Review drafted agreements to ensure NGML’s interests are protected.
- Administer and manage commercial contracts efficiently and effectively.
- Litigation Management
- Manage all litigations and contingent liabilities arising from NGML’s business activities.
- Advise on litigation risks associated with potential business decisions.
- Provide preventive counseling regarding legal risks tied to business practices and offer legal advice on litigation.
- Dispute Resolution
- Manage alternative dispute resolution processes, including arbitration, mediation, and conciliation.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
- Barrister at Law (BL) qualification.
- Must have been called to the Bar.
- A Master’s Degree in Law or any other relevant post-graduate degree or professional qualification is an added advantage.
Competence
