They are currently recruiting for the position of a Purchasing Assistant, based in Anthony, Lagos.
Job Overview
As a Purchasing Assistant, your role will be pivotal in ensuring that the company secures the best value for goods and services. Your duties will include identifying and sourcing potential suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate them.
- Quotation Analysis: Analyze and compare supplier quotations to ensure the best value for money.
- Order Preparation: Prepare purchase orders with precision.
- Delivery Coordination: Work with suppliers to track and update delivery schedules.
- Internal Collaboration: Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as the warehouse and finance departments.
- Database Management: Maintain and update the purchasing database and records.
- Cost Savings and Improvements: Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve any supplier-related issues or discrepancies.
- Policy Implementation: Support the implementation and maintenance of procurement policies and procedures.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management and periodic stock audits.
- Data Utilization: Use data to determine purchase needs and perform inventory management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with inventory management systems and strong mathematical skills for price analysis and cost calculations.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt and learn new processes and systems quickly.
- Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Communication: Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Salary and Application
- Salary: N200,000 – N250,000 monthly.
