The Role

As the Team Lead for MasterCard Settlement, you will be at the forefront of managing and overseeing all aspects of MasterCard transactions—both domestic and international.

Your role will involve ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of transactions across various platforms, including POS, ATM, web, and QR codes. Here’s a closer look at the key responsibilities and expectations for this position:

  • Transaction Management: Ensure that all types of MasterCard transactions are settled accurately and on time. This includes monitoring both domestic and international transactions across various channels.
  • Team Supervision: Oversee the MasterCard settlement team, ensuring that all functions are performed efficiently. Your role will include supervising other officers, resolving issues, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Account Management: Manage MasterCard-related accounts, such as receivable and payable accounts, cash disbursement, and suspense accounts. Regularly review open items and ensure proper reconciliation.
  • Settlement Procedures: Establish and maintain settlement procedures for new MasterCard e-products and ensure they align with both First Bank’s standards and industry best practices.
  • Daily Operations: Download and backup files from MasterCard Connect daily. Ensure that all settlement entries are reviewed and verified before processing.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Analyze transaction trends and prepare monthly reports to track performance across MasterCard products. Ensure accurate reporting of global collection only (GCO) transactions and monitor exchange rate trends.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Business Solutions, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to support new initiatives and address any issues related to MasterCard settlements. Engage with card schemes and third-party processors to resolve exceptions or settlement issues.
  • Merchant Support: Manage merchant settlement reports, resolve merchant complaints, and ensure prompt reconciliation of exceptions and partial dispense transactions.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Educational Background: A 1st Degree in a numerate discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in e-Banking or similar products.
