Key Responsibilities
As an ICT Officer at Kenya Power, your duties will include:
- System Management: Install, configure, and maintain systems hardware, software, and application components. Ensure these systems are secure, reliable, and available.
- Network Administration: Manage ICT network systems, including LAN, WAN, and intranet, while maintaining security protocols to protect company data.
- System Design and Development: Develop and implement IT systems and infrastructure to meet the organization’s needs, enhancing operational efficiency and supporting business processes.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide 24/7 support to users, partner agencies, and clients. Troubleshoot technical issues and propose effective solutions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a liaison between business units and the ICT department, identifying areas for improvement and automation. Develop interface programs with other systems and maintain data integrity and confidentiality.
- Quality Assurance: Write high-quality program code, debug applications, and perform validation checks. Develop test plans for new applications and coordinate user acceptance tests.
- Training and Continuous Improvement: Conduct training sessions for new applications and review existing systems for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Relevant experience in IT systems management, network administration, and software development is highly desirable.
