Position: Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics Affairs and Research)
Salary Range: Ksh. 416,420 – Ksh 555,800 per month
House Allowance: Ksh. 80,000 per month
Leave Allowance: As provided by the University
Medical Cover and Other Allowances: As provided by the University
Contract Term: Five (5) years, renewable once subject to satisfactory performance

- A PhD and the title of Professor or Associate Professor in a relevant technology field.
- Eight (8) years of progressive experience in senior university leadership roles such as Dean, Director, Principal of a university college, or Deputy Vice Chancellor.
- A proven track record of academic excellence, demonstrated through refereed journal publications, books, project grants, and awards.
- Strong competence in academic leadership, particularly in environments focused on research and innovation.
- In-depth knowledge of science and technology programs and experience in implementing them effectively.
- A solid understanding of university education trends both in Kenya and globally and the ability to navigate the factors influencing its development.

Duties and Responsibilities
As the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics Affairs and Research), you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Vice-Chancellor in developing and implementing university policies.
- Providing leadership in managing academic affairs and research to maintain high academic standards.
- Overseeing the preparation and implementation of academic programs and regulations.
- Managing examinations, postgraduate studies, research, library development, and student admissions.
- Promoting innovative systems for delivering academic programs, including e-learning and distance education.
- Managing student welfare, including recreation, sports, games, catering, accommodation, and counseling services.
- Conducting performance appraisals for academic staff and others within your department.
- Coordinating research programs, dissemination of scientific publications, and technology transfer initiatives.
- Seeking and maintaining linkages, collaborations, and extension programs.
