Job Description

At Eye Foundation Hospital, Ophthalmic Technicians play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmologists.

They are essential in gathering and facilitating information, conducting measurements and tests, assisting in documentation, and providing patient services.

Their responsibilities include aiding in surgical procedures and ensuring the smooth operation of our eye care services.

Below is a comprehensive list of common tasks performed by our Ophthalmic Technicians:

  • History Taking: Collecting detailed patient history for accurate diagnosis.
  • Visual Acuity Measurement: Testing and recording the clarity of vision.
  • Refractometry: Measuring for the glasses prescription.
  • Tonometry: Measuring eye pressure.
  • Pupil Size and Reactivity Measurement: Testing pupil response.
  • Eye Muscle Function Testing: Evaluating eye muscle performance.
  • Visual Field Testing: Assessing the range of vision.
  • Corneal Measurements: Including thickness, curvature, and topography.
  • Retinal Measurements: Assessing nerve fiber layer and thickness, topography.
  • Fluorescein Angiography: Imaging to check blood flow in the retina.
