Position Overview: Senior IT Officer
As the Senior IT Officer, you will be at the heart of our technology operations, ensuring that all IT systems function smoothly and efficiently. Your key responsibilities will include:
- User Support & Training: Create and manage employee details and login access for banking applications and the mail server. Provide training on banking software and computer applications.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve software issues in our banking applications. Handle end-of-day, end-of-month, and end-of-year processing, and ensure data backup and restoration.
- Database & Security Management: Administer SQL databases, manage security devices, and monitor hardware and software systems for malware and viruses.
- Documentation & Communication: Prepare internal memos, reports, and letters. Maintain essential documents and liaise with IT vendors, technicians, and service providers.
- Hardware & Network Management: Oversee hardware installations and repairs, manage the bank’s SMS portal, and troubleshoot network and communication infrastructure, including LAN and IP phones.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Additional certifications are advantageous.
- Experience: At least 2 years of proven IT experience, with a strong background in banking or microfinance industry preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of overall banking experience is required.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and data center management. Excellent organizational and leadership skills are crucial.
- Additional Skills: Understanding of hardware and software systems, experience with IT systems implementation and evaluation, and proficiency in managing local area networks.
