1. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), AHEEN Refugee and Displaced Persons (RDP) Pathways Project
This project is part of the African Higher Education in Emergencies Network (AHEEN), aimed at supporting refugees and displaced persons in five African countries by ensuring access to and completion of higher education degrees and facilitating their transition to the labor market.
Key Responsibilities
The CEO will:
- Lead the implementation of the AHEEN RDP Pathways vision across 10 sites in 5 countries.
- Act as a liaison with the University of Nairobi, program coordinators, AHEEN network, and program donors.
- Develop and monitor high-quality programs and ensure effective implementation of the AHEEN RDP Pathways strategy.
- Manage all aspects of grant narrative and financial reporting for the grant holder and review reporting from implementing members.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline; a PhD is preferred.
- At least five years of experience in humanitarian work and donor compliance/grants management, particularly in Education in Emergencies (EiE) and Higher Education in Emergencies (HEiE).
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and ERP software; experience with M&E approaches and EdTech for humanitarian contexts is an added advantage.
- Knowledge and experience in the humanitarian-development-peace nexus and the Global Compact on Refugees.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

2. Procurement & Administration Officer, Fleming Fund Kenya Grant
The University of Nairobi is also looking for a Procurement & Administration Officer for the Fleming Fund Kenya Grant. This two-year project, based in the Department of Clinical Medicine and Therapeutics, aims to strengthen surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use in several hospitals in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
The Procurement & Administration Officer will:
- Ensure project compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Collate project requests into the annual procurement plan and manage its implementation.
- Oversee contract management, financial management, and asset management.
- Manage vehicle and driver operations, ensuring adherence to safety and maintenance protocols.
- Support office management, including organizing project workshops and events.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Professional qualification in Procurement and Supplies (CIPS or CPSP-K).
- At least three years of professional experience in procurement, general administration, and asset management, preferably within donor-funded projects in the health sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
